Potch girls stuns with achievements at International Science Fair

Female students from Potchefstroom schools, showed off their talent over the course of a week at the International Science Fair.

Learners from Potchefstroom Central and Potchefstroom Girls High stunned everyone with their achievements at the International Science Fair 2025. The event took place from October 6 to October 10.

Shreya Zacaria, a Grade Seven Potchefstroom Central student, received a bronze medal in Biomedical Science.

Taslima Chand and Aa’ishah Khan, both Grade 11 students from Potchefstroom Girls High School, received silver medals in Earth Sciences.

Gold medals were handed to Merriam Adesewa Adeleke Adejoke in Biomedical Sciences (Grade 11), Diya Zacaria in Computer Sciences and software development (Grade 10), and Lamees Rassulmia in Environmental Studies (Grade 11).

Lamees Rassulmia also received lots of awards, including a gold medal. She is the category winner for Environmental studies, she received a bursary worth R40 000 from the University of Pretoria, she also received a voucher worth R10 000, and a laptop.
