Electricity restored after second Poortjiedam substation vandalism

Residents now have electricity after repairs was done to the Poortjiedam substation.

Electricity was restored yesterday evening after Poortjiedam substation was vandalised for the second time in a week.

Residents of Promosa and Mohadin was yet again left without electricity since the early hours of Thursday morning after the substation was vandalised.

Glenville Fransman, community leader, confirmed that the electricity was restored around 18:00 on Thursday.

“The repairs have been completed and the electricity restored. A lot of community leaders were on scene to make sure everything went down smoothly. A security guard was also posted at the substation.”
