The 2026 Chief of the SANDF Military Skills Competition was one of the highlights on the calendar with local and international competitors testing their abilities at the Army Support Base in Potchefstroom from October 26 – November 1.
One of the most challenging events was the Land Obstacle Courtse where particpants from South Africa, Namibia, the Netherlands, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe faced 20 grueling obstacles.
“The course tested every aspect of soldiering applied in the line of duty, demanding a combination of strength, agility, endurance, and unwavering mental focus. Competitors from the SANDF’s Regulars and Reserves stood shoulder to shoulder with their international counterparts, pushing their physical and psychological limits in pursuit of victory,” stated Captain Jacques de Vries from the Chief SANDF Communication Office.
