Cachet Park CID officers nab repeat offender
This is the second time that the same suspect has been apprehended by CID officers.
Cachet Park Improvement District’s reaction officers apprehended a suspect on Sunday, July 20 after he gained entry to a gated complex.
Leandro de Beer, manager of Cachet Park Improvement District, says the suspect has been caught by CID officers before.
“The suspect was apprehended in August 2024 after he was believed to have broken open a gate of a house. After receiving a panic, a response was immediately launched and through our CCTV network, the suspect was tracked down and caught. He was then arrested.”
On Sunday the CCTV operator observed a suspect approaching the complex gate as a vehicle entered the premises. Before the gate could close, the suspect gained entry. Shortly thereafter, the suspect fled on foot carrying a bag.
“Cachet Park CID NPC Potchefstroom Reaction Officers were dispatched and successfully apprehended the suspect. It was confirmed that items had been stolen from one of the apartments. The complainants were located and a case was opened. The suspect was subsequently arrested by the South African Police Service.”
