Former learners inspire by repairing high school

They have a target to have the school restored by December.

Altogether 227 former learners of Boitshoko High School, ranging from 1989 to 1995, decided that for their 30th High School reunion, they wanted to restore dignity to their school.

Kgajane Mabel Mokoena, founder and chairperson, started the non-profit organisation, where the former learners came together since January to clean, restore, and upgrade the school.

Mokoena says the school has been vandalised and is in desperate need of new windows, taps, and other essentials. Everything is currently coming out of pocket.

“We are giving back to the community of Ikageng. We have a target to have the school restored by December, but if we are unable to finish the work before then, we will extend the deadline.”

If you would like to contribute towards the repair of the school, you can contact Mokoena on 078 984 8585.
