Paws Haven Potchefstroom urgently needs the help of the Potchefstroom community.

Running an animal shelter is a calling of love, but it comes with endless challenges and costs. Like many other shelters across South Africa, Paws Haven is under immense pressure with outstanding bills that urgently need to be settled before they can continue providing assistance to the animals and families who depend on them.

It is a daily struggle to feed, house, clean, medicate & look after around 750 abandoned animals in their care. Over and above the animals already in their care, Paws Haven has recently taken in six adult dogs and 17 tiny puppies

Their bakkie, which is used daily for rescues, call-outs, vet trips, and emergencies, is no longer roadworthy. This vehicle has been their lifeline, serving the community 24 hours a day. Sadly, it’s now practically unrepairable, leaving them stranded when animals need them most.

Shelters everywhere are crying out for help. Some are pleading for food, others for medical supplies, and many for support with transport and fuel. At Paws Haven, they find themselves in the same storm, needing urgent financial assistance to settle bills and replace their bakkie so they can keep saving lives.

They are humbly asking: if you are able to contribute in any way whether it’s a donation, sponsoring part of a bill, assisting with a reliable vehicle, or simply sharing their plea, it will make a world of difference.
