Women unite in Marikana for cancer awareness month

Women were allowed to share their experiences and support one another.

A Cancer Awareness Workshop took place in Marikana-Promosa on October 25, hosted by National Awards winner Lilla-Ann Adams and Rise to Shine.

The event brought together women of all ages, filling the day with education, dance, laughter, and unity. Speakers shared valuable insights on cancer awareness, early detection, and prevention, with a focus on breast cancer.

The motivational speaker inspired attendees to stand strong as ‘Imbokodo’ women, promoting empowerment and resilience. Discussions and mingling took place, allowing women to share their experiences and support one another.

There was a sense of community and solidarity among attendees, forging bonds and creating memories. The aim was to equip attendees with knowledge and confidence, to take control of their health and inspire others.

The women, young and old, got educated about early detection, prevention, and treatment options, promoting a culture of health and wellness. These initiatives show the importance of cancer awareness workshops in promoting education, empowerment, and community engagement.
