North West umpires geared for success
Umpires form a critical component of the cricket ecosystem, ensuring fairness, safety, and the smooth running of fixtures across all levels.
North West Cricket (NWC) officially handed over National Lottery Commission (NLC)-funded clothing and essential equipment to the North West Cricket Umpires Association at a ceremony held on November 2.
The handover marks another step in North West Cricket’s commitment to strengthening the structures that support and sustain cricket development across the province. By investing in its match officials, NWC aims to enhance professionalism, boost morale, and ensure that umpires are equipped to perform their duties confidently throughout the 2025/26 season.
The attire and equipment will be worn and utilised by umpires officiating in club leagues, school leagues, regional cricket, and structured competitions under North West Cricket.
Speaking at the handover, Solomon Meki, Cricket Services Manager at North West Cricket, expressed appreciation to the NLC for enabling this important milestone.
“We are truly grateful to the National Lottery Commission for their assistance and funding. This support ensures that our match officials present a professional image on the field and are equipped to perform their duties with confidence and pride.”
