NWU is taking the next big step in hospitality
At the beginning of 2026, major expansions and upgrades will be made to the venue to ensure an even more enhanced experience.
As part of the North-West University’s (NWU) strategy to expand its additional sources of income and to cater for its own needs, the university is proud to announce that it is now the new owner of the well-known and established Crista Galli wedding and function venue in Potchefstroom.
Louis Jacobs, spokesperson for NWU, says the recently finalised transaction will ensure that the professional service provided by the previous owners, Ernst and Irma van den Berg, will continue to be available to all internal and external clients.
“We wish them well as they enter retirement after 24 years of running this venue and want to give them the assurance that the business will continue to live up to its standards.”
The NWU Hospitality Services will take over the running of the business from January 1, 2026, and the name of the venue will remain the same. Bookings remain open and can still be made on 079 502 8751/018 294 6357 or admin@cgv.co.za.
“We want to assure all current and prospective clients that the NWU will be there to serve your every need as we take this venue to the next level. At the beginning of 2026, major expansions and upgrades will be made to the venue to ensure an even more enhanced experience. Details will be made known at a later stage,” Jacobs continues.
Should any further information be required, kindly contact Johan Duvenhage, head of the NWU Hospitality Services, on 082 528 2168.
“Looking forward to welcoming our clients to the new and upgraded Crista Galli.”
