Miss Resilience North West 2026 launches in Potch
The goal is not only to teach modelling skills, but to instil discipline, courage, and self-belief.
Mavhungu Rolindwa Gracious, a resident from Potchefstroom, has recently announced the upcoming launch of Miss Resilience North West, a modelling competition to inspire young girls.
Gracious says the initiative began in Limpopo, Thohoyandou, in 2022, where Miss Resilience was created to empower young people through confidence, creativity, and resilience.
“After living in Potchefstroom for eight years, I have come to understand the unique spirit of this community and the challenges many of our children face. I have not only come to know this community but have also faced my own challenges here. Those experiences taught me the true meaning of resilience and inspired me to build something that could give children the same strength to rise above difficulties.”
She continues to say resilience is at the heart of their mission because they know that kids and teens often face different struggles at home, at school, and in their daily lives.
“These challenges can affect their confidence, their sense of identity, and their ability to dream big. Through the Miss Resilience North West, we want to create an environment of belonging, a safe space where every child feels seen, valued, and supported. This initiative is a movement to build stronger, more resilient young leaders for the future.”
The goal is not only to teach modelling skills, but to instil discipline, courage, and self-belief.
“We want every participant to walk away with the strength to overcome obstacles, the confidence to embrace their individuality, and the resilience to rise above life’s difficulties. “With this new branch in the North West Province (Potchefstroom), we aim to make a lasting impact by nurturing local talent and inspiring the next generation to shine both on stage and in life.”
