The community of Promosa woke up to the chilling reality of two bodies dumped in the desolate bushes in the neighbourhood on Saturday morning.

One was the body of the strangled 17-year-old, Lesley Makousa and the other, a baby believed to be one month premature. Ikageng SAPS spokesperson, Const. Kelebogile Trom says the police made the gruesome discovery on the corner of Montana and Manchester streets while attending to the murder scene of Lesley. “They noticed an orange plastic bag containing the premature baby boy and discovered the placenta in a grey plastic bag. The plastic bag was lying not far from Lesley’s body. According to Sgt Kelebogile Moleko, the SAPS provincial spokesperson, the police are investigating a case of concealment of birth.
Const. Trom urged any community members who may have information about the mother of the baby to please come forward and inform the police.
Sharun Tromp, director of Taletha Terri Care Centre in Potchefstroom says this is tragic news.
“This is exactly why we started the centre to prevent cases like this.
