North West’s prodigal son of motivational speaking and self-improvement has returned to the province with a bang, to leave a long-lasting legacy with the next part of his project.
Henry Walker, originally from Klerksdorp, has lived two distinct lives – one filled with fame and fortune, which left him empty, and another of Godly provision and spirit-filled guidance, which has restored his zest for life. It is in this second opportunity at life that Walker has been taken through a figurative and literal journey where he has walked thousands of kilometres to touch souls in every corner of the country.
‘It is all about networking and developing the brand in the province. This is now the time for others to make a difference as well,’ said Walker who has an unbelievable passion for motivational speaking.

He plans to present motivational courses and seminars in the coming weeks to give others the chance to realise an abundant purpose-driven life. His mission looks simple from the outside. He is armed with only walking shoes, a tent and backpack, but inside is a person highly motivated to enhance the lives of the community through his testimony and message of self-improvement and positivity.

‘The principles I adhere to are based on asking important questions. Are you MAD (Making a Difference) or are you BAD (Buying a Difference?). Are you walking the walk or talking the talk and are you living the dream L‘IF’E every day?’

Walker has not always been on the straight and narrow path and has seen the ugly side of life once too often when pride took him to the depths of despair. ‘I lived the life of status – trying to be with the who’s who and always keeping up with the best. I also had numerous marital problems and I felt like a failure. My self-worth depended on material things. I needed to find myself at that point.’

Walker had a dream and realised that his life was worth living and he needed to make a difference in this life. He then proceeded to get involved in various side projects like selling peanuts, guarding cars and utilising various means to make a living, just enough to make ends meet while continuing to spread a positive message.

‘I started using the GLU moniker which stands for “God Loves U”. I then used that as a personal motto and decided to go to Aardklop in 2005 to spread the message further, there, in conjunction with my MAD man message. Potchefstroom has been a big influence in my journey,’ he stated.
Now, 11 years on, Walker is back to finish what he started all those years ago with more moments of motivation and investment in future generations. Acronyms and abbreviations are all part and parcel of Walker’s technique and motivational sole to soul programme where he has lived a ‘souled-out’ life with holes in his soles.
‘It is all about finding victory, peace, abundance and prosperity and marketing the lifestyle through a series of networks and 40-day cycles of self- improvement. It is about touching souls and reaching goals,’ he explained. ‘The Mad Man has become the MotiMADian – inspiring others to make a difference, becoming legends and leaving legacies.’
He encourages the community to follow Henry Walker on Facebook for updates on his journey and future events. He would also like to thank Mugg and Bean, Caltex in Potchefstroom and Pastor André Labuschagne for their patronage and assistance on his journey.
