Putting ‘service above self’ has been part and parcel of the Trautmann family’s lifestyle for many years.
Rob Trautmann, who was inducted as the president of the Potchefstroom Rotary Club on Thursday night, is serving his third term of office in this position.
He joined Round Table, Potchefstroom 47 at the age of 25. After serving for 14 years, two of which were as the chairperson, he moved on to becoming a Round Table 41er. Rob is the most internationally-travelled Tabler, having attended an astounding 23 international numbers meetings through the years. As a result, he was awarded honorary life membership with the Round Table club in Mol, Belgium, also a chapter 47 club.
His many years in the various service organisations were bound to have an impact on his family and, at his induction, he was proud to have his son, Sean, seated at his table. Sean was elected as the vice-president of Round Table Southern Africa on 8 April 2017, having served as the area chairperson in 2015. He has been a member of the club for the past 11 years.
