A 29 year old woman who was left for dead after she was brutally attacked was found by a passerby near the railway this morning (28 February) at around 07:00.

According to warrant officer Mpho Manyoba, policespokesperson, the passerby alerted police after discovering the woman who was barely alive. Upon arrival the police found the woman with multiple stab wounds to her face.

“She was robbed of her cellphone, shoes and handbag. It is also suspected thzt she was raped,” Manyoba said.

The woman was taken to Potchefstroom Hospital where she is currently being treated for her injuries. According to Manyoba she is in a critical but stable condition.

“The police are working around the clock to apprehend the suspects,” Manyoba said.
