
Police in Ikageng apprehended a 26-year-old man in connection with a murder on Sunday (23 September).
A fight between the suspect and the victim allegedly brokeĀ out at a local shebeen after the suspect got angry while the victim was speaking to his sister.
It is alleged that the suspect took out a knife and stabbed the victim twice on his upper body. The victim was transported to Potchefstroom Hospital, where he died. The suspect was arrested at his house in Extension 11, Ikageng, and charged with murder.
The 26-year-old suspect is expected to appear in the Potchefstroom Magistratesā Court on Wednesday, 26 September 2018.
The Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane, congratulated Ikageng Detectives for their quick response that led to the arrest of the suspect.
