A 5-year-old girl has told her 37-year-old mother how a 12-year-old boy took her to an outside toilet and allegedly raped her in Promosa on Valentine’s day.
According to Sgt Kelebogile Trom, the police spokesperson, the girl was playing with the other kids at the suspect’s house at about 12:00 on 14 February.
‘The mother only realised that her daughter had been raped at bath time (around 19:30). She alleges that she was home with her mother and daughter. When the grandmother wanted to bath the little girl, she refused and started crying. She told her grandmother that her genitalia was sore.
‘The girl said the older boy took her to the outside toilet while the children were playing in the afternoon. He took off her shorts and underwear and proceeded to rape her,’ reported Trom.
Trom says the police are investigating the rape case. The victim’s mother has also reported the rape at the suspect’s home.
