To provide some relief to residents who have been affected by the extended water shutdown, the municipality has provided temporary measures for residents to collect water.

According to Willie Maphosa, municipal spokesperson water will be supplied at the fire hydrant on the corner of Klinkenberg and Ben Pienaar streets as from 11H00.

Two water tankers are also roaming the streets of Ikageng where residents can collect water.

“The Municipality is doing all it can to complete the work at the water supply pipeline and restore the situation back to normal,” said Maphosa.

According to him the situation should return to normal from about midday today (17 May).
