North West Police commemorate Women’s Day.

Thursday, 22 August, the provincial SAPS commemorated the National Women’s Day at Roots, Potchefstroom where female employees of the organisation from various areas in the province attended. #Balance for better, was this year’s provincial SAPS celebration of National Women’s Day theme.

Every year in August, South Africa commemorates the 1956 Women’s March where over 20 000 women from different backgrounds and ethnicities, marched to the Union Buildings, in Pretoria on 9 August 1956. The march was aimed to protest against the pass laws.

Therefore, SAPS collaborated with Metropolitan to empower the women within its organisation and to ensure their well-being.

As stated, the event was informative and uplifting as there were a variety of speakers that shared their testimonies and encouraged the attendees to not be overcome by circumstances. In addition, they were also given advice regarding certain issues, for example, financial advice.

As stated, the Provincial Commissioner Lt Gen Baile Motswenyane, said that this was a great start to ensure that woman attain a balanced life, both professionally and personally.
