In the early hours of Sunday (29 September 2019) morning around 01:30, a 35-year-old was declared dead in Nkululeko Street.
Ikageng Police station spokesperson, Sergeant Kelebogile Trom says the deceased had stab wounds in his chest, in his neck, and on his shoulder. “He was found lying in a pool of blood,” Trom said. According to two witnesses, the deceased was involved in a fight that occurred at a tavern, where someone then stabbed him with an Okapi knife. A 23-year-old man was arrested in connection with this crime. “Motlatsi Janki (23) was arrested and he briefly appeared at the Potchefstroom Magistrate’s Court on Monday but will reappear at a later stage for his bail application,” says Trom.
