Councillor succumbs to Covid-19

J.B. Marks Local Municipality Councillor (Cllr) Sabata Paseka Johannes Kganticoe passed away on Wednesday, 22 July, due to COVID-19 complications, at the Potchefstroom Hospital. 

J.B. Marks Local Municipality Councillor (Cllr) Sabata Paseka Johannes Kganticoe passed away on Wednesday, 22 July, due to Covid-19 complications, at the Potchefstroom Hospital.

According to William Maphosa, municipal spokesperson, Cllr Kganticoe was in self-isolation at the hospital since Thursday, 16 July, after he tested positive for Covid-19.

“Thoughtful, unassuming and soft-spoken, the late Paseka Kganticoe was a hard-working Councillor representing Ward 18, said Maphosa.

Funeral arrangements will be released once they are finalised.

“Council expresses its heartfelt condolences to all members of the family, relatives and friends. May his soul rest in peace,” Maphosa concluded.
