NPO in need of a helping hand

When Covid-19 hit the country, many were left without jobs. Almost immediately, 20-year-old Kamogelo Mogagabe thought of the school children who would be affected.
“From time to time, I noticed that some children barely had proper school shoes. I thought it would be a good idea to donate to at least 20 school children. That is how the NPO, Thuso ya Bokamoso, started. Khanyisile Sizane (19) and Onalenna Kgomanyane (22) also manage the organisation,” ex- plained Kamogelo.
Kamogelo asked his friends and saved up to buy 20 pairs of school shoes.
“The NPO isn’t just about donating school shoes. We aim to improve the lives of the under- privileged learners by assisting and providing them with essentials,” he explained.
As part of empowering the youth during Youth Month, the NPO had planned to donate sanitary pads to matric learners and host an empowerment session. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the event has been postponed to sometime next month.
The NPO is determined to host many more events and make more donations. They are asking the community for help, whether it be in the form of volunteers or contributions.
To donate or for more information regarding the initiative, please contact Kamogelo on 081 542 2384 or email the foundation at thusoyabokamoso@gmail.com.
