The J.B. Marks Consumers and Ratepayers Association (JBMCRA) is organising and hosting an online summit on The state of Potchefstroom from 10:00 to 12:00 this morning (21 August).

The JBMCRA has conducted service delivery surveys in Potchefstroom, Ikageng, Promosa, and Mohadin since September 2020 and the results of this survey will be presented at this summit.

The summit aims to:

• Inform residents and relevant stakeholders of the state of Potchefstroom regarding service delivery and infrastructure.
• Disseminate the information (survey) for further use and planning of better service delivery.
• Inform the municipality of urgent matters that need to be addressed.
• Put pressure on the municipality to deliver services and improve infrastructure.
• Initiate and coordinate actions from all concerned residents to solve these problems.
• Propose (and hopefully form) a forum where the municipality and civil society will be represented and to keep the municipality accountable within this cooperative structure.

Anyone may attend the summit. The board members invite the public, political parties, media, business sector, and municipal management to attend. No registration is needed, and you are welcome to join via the link provided below.

There will also be an opportunity for different civil organisations who actively work to improve Potchefstroom to briefly present their work, so that we may foster greater networking in this way.

Please join this Summit on Zoom at: https://zoom.us/j/5446474590?pwd=OXFGNGxwSlkxb2xFb2o2cWxyQzV3QT09 Meeting ID: 544 647 4590 Passcode: JhjH9j.
