Fatal collision on N12 leaves woman dead and seven injured

 When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene at approximately 16:00, they found a vehicle on the grass stretch next to the highway.

A motor accident on the N12 has claimed the life of a woman and left seven injured when two vehicles collided on the N12 yesterday afternoon (Thursday, 16 December).

The accident occurred approximately 15 kilometers out of Potchefstroom. When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene at approximately 16:00, they found a vehicle on the grass stretch next to the highway.

The vehicle had rolled and it is understood that a woman was ejected from the vehicle. Unfortunately, she had sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. Five others from the vehicle had sustained minor injuries.

A second vehicle was found with two patients. The patients had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. ER24, as well as two other medical services at the scene, treated the patients before transporting them to hospital for further medical care.  

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not known to our paramedics, but police were on the scene for further investigations.
