In celebration of Freedom Day, Athletes In Need, the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) and National Youth Services (NYS) kickstarted their clean-up campaign on Monday, 25 April. They continued until Thursday, 28 April.

“The campaign is run with the support of the J.B. Marks Local Municipality. We aimed to address the dire situation at the Ikageng stadium,” the team explained. “It was conducted by the youth for the youth, to give the athletes in our community a decent environment to train for soccer, softball, basketball and netball.”
The team worked hand-in-hand with municipal workers throughout the project, ensuring a successful initiative. Athletes In Need urges the community to work with the organisation in striving to address the severe condition of the sports and recreational facilities.
