Two aborted babies in four days found in trash

A fetus was found in a dustbin in Chief Albert Luthuli Street this afternoon, 13 June, around 13:00. Police spokesperson Col. Adele Myburgh has confirmed that garbage collectors discovered the fetus. “Currently, all we know is that it was a girl, and the case is still under investigation, she said.

In a separate incident, street kids found another fetus on Saturday, 11 June, evening at around 19:30 in Gluckman Street near the taxi rank. According to Myburgh, a person at the taxi rank called the police and they discovered it was a baby boy. An investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of death, she added.
