A carnival of creativity at Potch Academy’s hair and body paint show

The excitement on the day was palpable as hairdressing students wowed the crowd with unique creations.

It was a festival of colour and creativity at the 2022 Hair & Body Paint Show hosted by Potchefstroom Academy and SAAHST on Friday, 2 September.

This show contributed to the benefit of the Students of Worth (SOW) fund, which is an initiative to provide students with financial assistance to complete a qualification.

The excitement on the day was palpable as hairdressing students wowed the crowd with unique creations.

The colours, textures, styles and themes all intertwined perfectly as ideas were brought to life on the cat walk.

The Hairdressing students participated in the following categories:

Second Place: Claudia Nel

South African Bridal Upstyle -Second Year Hairdressing Students Overall winner:  Leonie Strauss
South African Creative Braiding and Creative Make-up – Second Year Students Overall winner:  Kyla Scholtz
South African Open Section – Hairtrends public salon. Overall winner: Alichia Botha

Body paint winners:
First place: Habitats in Nature, painted by: Shanique Jonker and Zennique Douglas
Second place: Human versus Butterfly: Beauties of Nature: painted by Zeldri Nel and Bibi Kader
Third place: Fantasy Mermaid; Painted by Carmi Barkhuizen and Carla Bisschoff
