The Athletes in Need organisation, in partnership with Sportistic and the J.B. Marks Municipality’s Department of Local Economic Development, hosted the first ever J.B. Marks local municipal SME (Small and medium-sized enterprises) development workshop on Friday, 2 September.
The workshop aimed to promote entrepreneurship in local municipalities to enhance entrepreneurs’ interests. “It gives our organisation great pleasure to embark on the journey of emancipating the dreams of young women, men and LGBTQI+ entrepreneurs through our entrepreneurial skills development programmes. We also look forward to the upcoming workshop, including other stakeholders, that will assist in developing the small, locally-owned businesses we have adopted under our strategic programme. Lastly, I wish to thank every participant who attended the first J.B. Marks local municipality SME workshop. Ours is to emancipate one dream, one day at a time,” Busang Molekane, the chairperson of AIN, said.
Within the next three weeks, the organisation will meet with participants again for the follow-up workshop and engagement with other stakeholders who could not make it to yesterday’s workshop.
The organisation further thanks every participant who attended the workshop.
“It is through your communicated need, support and interest that our initiatives remain relevant to the society, communities and the market,” Molekane added.
A further thank you to partners and stakeholders who made the event a success, namely; Standard Bank South Africa, Lebo Papptown Jnr, the Department of Labour and Employment (Dole), NWU Pukke, Progress Mpangane and our partners in media and marketing, Platinum North West TV, Kefilwe BeautifulBoy Ditse, 16V Photography, Omphemetse Rathabe, Kgothatso Bogatsu, Hoot Creatives and Thabiso Thabs Hlongoan.
“We can implement community programmes because of you,” Molekane concluded.
