NW Security Cluster uplifts women with special parade

North West Security Cluster hosted the first of its kind women’s month parade at Ikageng Stadium last month.

North West Security Cluster hosted the first of its kind women’s month parade at Ikageng Stadium last month which features only women from the South African Army units, South African Military Health Service (SAMHS), South African Police Services (SAPS), Department of Traffic and Safety, Correctional Services and JB Marks Municipality.

The Cluster parade is the brainchild of Colonel Absalom who is the first female Officer Commanding of an Army Support Base in Potchefstroom.

The aim of this parade is to reach out to the community, to inspire and instill confidence that women are capable and well equipped to lead. The parade started with a pre-parade show which featured motor bikes from the South African Army Specialised Infantry Capability followed by the band of the South African Police Services. The Functionary (Colonel Rampai) addressed the parade and emphasised that women play an important role in society.

Leading the Battalion parade with three companies of women is Parade Commander – Lieutenant Colonel Kereng Patience Radebe, who has expressed her appreciation to the security cluster for its unity in making North West a harmonious community. She also thanked the community for attending in numbers.
