Prepare for a 10-hour power outage this Friday

The Municipality wishes to inform Potchefstoom residents of the following planned power outage requested by Eskom: 

Date: Friday, 28 October 2022 

Time : 08h00 – 18h00 

The main purpose for the request is to carry out urgent repairs on Transformer No 2, which is one of their two 80 MVA transformers at Potchefstroom DS-Substation. 

Based on the latest data, Eskom’s remaining transformer could still carry the required load if one of those transformers were repaired. Should the remaining transformer not be able to carry the load on the day, 

The following parts of Potchefstroom will then be affected: 

• Potchefstroom CBD 
• Grimbeek Park 
• Vanderhoff Park 
• Baillie Park 
• Bult Area 
• Kanoniers Park 
• Vyfhoek 
• Tuscany Ridge 
• Mooivallei Park
