Community members thank community for making their event a success

Phakisi The Comedian, in collaboration with various sponsors, hosted a charity event, themed ” Body Positivism Awareness “, at Tshing community hall in Ventersdorp’s Extension 2 on Saturday, 29 October.

The group distributed some of the collected donations over the weekend.
“The event went exceptionally well; approximately, 60 people attended,” Phakisi Goliath reported. “We received more donations than we had anticipated and we plan to do another distribution. The purpose of the event was to help school children from disadvantaged backgrounds by providing them with sanitary pads, school uniforms, school shoes while also teaching them about body positivity,” he added.

The event started at noon and continued until late. Those who attended were entertained with a photo booth, body painting and delicious food. They also got to enjoy performances from local artists like Godly Anointed , Dimetry, Poezen de DeadMan, D The Motivator, Majestic Drum Goon, Drey Cubic, Syba Force, Weggle Goes Trap and Doni B Singer.

“We plan to make the whole body positivism movement a drive, where we go to different villages and towns and educate people about the importance of body positivism and how it affects overall mental, physical and spiritual health,” Phakisi said.
