Video: Scorpion members’ burned car case still under investigation

“ The investigating officer spoke to Mr Williams about the case approximately a week and a half ago therefore the case has not been closed,” she said.

Williams confirmed that he did in fact speak with the investigating officer however, this was only after he initiated the call. “ The police have taken our statements and we have also mentioned  the suspects but nothing has been done,” he said. 

“If I do not call to follow up, they don’t say anything and if we were to retaliate as the scorpions we would be arrested on the spot, despite the fact that no suspects have been arrested since July,” he lamented. 

Police spokesperson, Col Adele Myburgh said should Mr Williams not be satisfied with police services he is more than welcome to contact the branch commander at Ikageng detectives is more than welcome to assist.

Steve Williams, a leader of the scorpions explained in a Facebook video that the Scorpions received information that there are people who are making illegal power connections which lead to the horrific event of his car..

“When the Scorpions arrived, two people ran away. We confiscated a lot of cables,” Williams said on Facebook.

After that, members of what is believed to be Extension 4 and Marikana started fighting with members of the Scorpions.

“We were completely overwhelmed. My car was pushed out of a yard and left on a burning tyre. In short my car burned out,” said Williams shortly after the incident.
