Since this morning, 17 April, at around 5:00, residents of Promosa gathered on the Dassierand road leading to Promosa to protest against the municipality’s planned move of Mooibank residents to Promosa.

Currently, both Promosa and Dassierand roads are blocked and no vehicles are allowed in or out. Glenville Fransman confirmed that so far, no one has been injured.

“Residents are angry that Mooibank residents are being proritized over them, we are currently waiting on the municipality to give a briefing on the way forward,” Fransman said.

Police are currently monitoring the scene.
