Municipality fixes roads over the weekend

Work is still underway and progressing steadily.

The JB Marks municipality started work on various roads over the long weekend. In the last 24 hours, the Technical Services team led by the Municipal Manager – Mr. Kgomotso Kumbe, excavated the road at the intersection of Peter Mokaba Street and Chief Albert Luthuli Drive. This is the first step in preparing for the installation of road brick paving that will withstand the weight of trucks.

Paving of Mosidisi Street also started yesterday. Work is still underway and progressing steadily.

Please avoid these areas if possible.

Jeanette Tshite, municipal spokesperson says the services being delivered is a fight against potholes. The JB Marks Local Municipality resolved to remove old damaged tar and build paved roads on intersections and other roads that are problematic.

“The work has commenced and progressing well. Municipal Officials from departments such as Technical Services, Communication Unit and Community Safety are hard at work led by the Executive Mayor, Cllr Gaba Thithiba Ka Qhele and Municipal Manager, Mr Kgomotso Kumbe.”
