Water interruption scheduled for 23 September

Several areas in Potchefstroom, including Promosa, Mohadin, Dassierand and Ikageng, will face a temporary water shutdown on Tuesday afternoon.

The municipality has announced that a planned water supply interruption will take place on September 23, due to an essential upgrade at the Ventersdorp Road Pump Station.

According to the municipality, the Technical Team will be conducting additional electrical upgrade work to improve the long-term reliability of the water system. To allow this work to proceed safely, the water supply will be temporarily shut down from 12:00 to 16:00.

Areas expected to be affected by the shutdown include:

  • Promosa

  • Mohadin

  • Dassierand

  • SANDF Base

  • Witrand Hospital

  • Kannoniers Park

  • All Ikageng Extension Areas

  • Eesterandjies Reservoirs

The municipality has apologized for the inconvenience, urging residents to plan ahead and make the necessary water arrangements. “Your cooperation and understanding are greatly appreciated, as the primary goal of this work is to upgrade the infrastructure to ensure a more reliable water supply,” the statement read.

Residents are encouraged to use water sparingly during this time and ensure storage where possible.
