Refuse collection delays hit parts of Potch after truck breakdowns
Several areas faced refuse collection delays on Monday due to mechanical breakdowns of municipal trucks.

The JB Marks Local Municipality has confirmed that refuse collection services were disrupted on 13 October, following mechanical breakdowns involving several municipal refuse removal trucks.
According to municipal spokesperson Jeanette Tshite, four routes were affected by the unexpected mechanical issues. The areas impacted include the Taung Section, Yizo Yizo and Skoti Phola, Two Rooms, Loans and 4 Line Sections, as well as Witrand Hospital, SANDF and Dassierand Flats.
“The municipality extends its sincere apologies to all affected residents for the inconvenience caused by this unforeseen disruption,” Tshite said.
Technical teams have been dispatched to repair the affected vehicles to restore normal refuse removal operations as soon as possible.
The municipality further advised that a supplementary notice will be issued if there are any further changes to the collection schedule, including updates on when the missed routes will be serviced.
Residents are urged to monitor official municipal communication channels for updates.
