Community in Blue: United to fight crime in Potchefstroom

“The Community in Blue will get information about drugs sold in the CBD, stolen property, or wanted suspects. They provide information, and as police, we operationalise the information. They are very effective in ensuring the safety of the community" - Col. Thabo Mahlangu.

They act as the eyes and ears of the community, seeking out troublemakers and assisting police in ensuring that crime takes a downward curve in Potchefstroom.

This is the Community in Blue – a Community Policing Forum initiative set up a couple of years ago, where a group of volunteers help tackle crime in numerous hotspots around Potchefstroom by reporting incidents to police and being visible in helping with crime prevention.

The Community in Blue together with the police gathered at Trim Park last week as part of an operation to fight crime and ensure a safer environment.
