NWU student dies suddenly

The university encouraged students to support each other during this time of mourning.

The North-West University (NWU) Potchefstroom Campus is mourning the passing of a student, Tshediso Panuel Khomo. He passed away suddenly on Friday, March 27.

Khomo was a student in BA Public Management with Public Administration and Social Studies at the Potchefstroom campus.

The Potchefstroom Student Campus Council said in a notice to students that his passing was a great loss to the campus community.

“Tshediso’s passing is a deep loss to our campus community and his presence will be greatly missed,” the notice reads.

According to Louis Jacobs, the university has already taken steps to support students affected by the news.

“The university is aware of the passing of a student on the Potchefstroom Campus. We express our deepest condolences to his family, friends and fellow students at this difficult time,” Jacobs said.

Students who require support are encouraged to make use of the university’s Student Counseling and Development (SCD) services.

The university has also encouraged students to support each other during this time of mourning as the campus community remembers Khomo’s life and legacy.
