Municipality ends load curtailment

After a week load reduction has finally been ended after Eskom finished repairs.

Residents can breathe a sigh of relief after the JB Marks Municipality announced this evening (Wednesday, May 13) that load curtailment has been suspended.

Residents in a large area of Potch, Ikageng, Mohadin and Promosa who are in the 66KV Eskom line have been experiencing load reduction since Thursday, May 7.

Eskom technicians had been hard at work to repair the second transformer at the Potch DS substation.

“The substation is now fully operational with both transformers functioning efficiently and adequately handling the electricity load as required. The Electrical Department will henceforth continue with its normal operations
and will only attend to reported power outages and faults as usual,” stated JB Marks Municipal spokesperson, Jeanette Tshite.

“The JB Marks Local Municipality appreciates the understanding and patience shown by residents during this period.”
