A pedestrian has died during a vehicle accident on the R 501 about 9 kilometres from Potchefstroom. The accident was reported at around 14:30.

It is alleged that the unidentified male was in the road when he was hit by an oncoming truck. An investigation is still ongoing.

One lane is currently closed to traffic, with delays expected.

All authorities are on scene and are awaiting the forensics team before the scene can be cleared.
