Motorists travelling between Potchefstroom and Klerksdorp faced disruptions on Sunday, June 7 after protesters reportedly closed the N12 near Ikageng.

The protest led to the temporary closure of the busy route, with traffic brought to a standstill as vehicles were unable to pass through the affected area.

At the time of publication, the exact cause of the protest had not yet been confirmed. However, motorists were advised to avoid the area where possible and make use of alternative routes until the situation is resolved.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution when approaching the area.
