Social challenges of the rainbow nation

If our government refuses to acknowledge that our public service, our education system, our health sector and the criminal justice system have failed, we can never redevelop frameworks and policies to better these sectors in our country.

South Africa is one of the countries with the most riches in a diverse heritage traditions and culture, not only in Africa but in the world. It is sad that if you don’t know where you are coming from you don’t know where you going.

Oral tradition as a cultural practice continues to be one of the forms of human communication wherein knowledge, art, ideas and cultural material is received, preserved, and transmitted from one generation to another, according to the National Heritage Council 2023.

We have become a nation that accepts the wrong and evil in our country turning a blind eye where the corrupt and criminals have more rights than the law-abiding tax paying citizen of our country.

We have become the lost generation where the youth and children have more say in the household and society, because we are afraid of their rights. What has happened to the promise we made unto God by raising our children in the ways of the Lord God as parents we have become weak-willed.

Children have the right not to attend school or decide where or when they want to move out of their parents’ house living with the boyfriend as young as 14 years old- and we just have to stand aside and look.

Where are our values our morals as a nation where is the discipline and respect? Every week we lay to rest our elders in our communities and yet so many young people do not spend time by the feet of their grannies getting wisdom and knowledge from them.

If our government refuses to acknowledge that our public service, our education system, our health sector and the criminal justice system have failed, we can never redevelop frameworks and policies to better these sectors in our country.

Our elderly our children and the unemployed South Africans are neglected due to a lack of accountability corruption and mismanagement in local and provincial governments.
