Convincing, majestic, amazing, sensational.

These are some of the words that come to mind after our u.19 Underwater Hockey ladies took home gold at the CMAS World Championships in Spain this August.

These ladies showed everything that a team stands for – tenacity, energy, ability and momentum. Momentum was especially one of the most important aspects as this helped the team to grow unrivalled confidence that took them all the way to gold. Well done ladies!

2.Proteas disappoint at Senwes Park – fans do not.

Potchefstroomers were left disappointed on Sunday as South Africa gave a half-hearted performance to faithful and loyal fans. This disappointment did not affect the atmosphere of the match, though, as young and old enjoyed the festive atmosphere at the grounds. If you were not enjoying the game, you had a ‘boereworsrol’ and beer to keep you and your mates company.

The stadium was packed and this genuinely showed that Potchefstroomers were hungry for action. Next time, I hope it’s winning cricket from the Proteas’ side.

3.NWU Pukke needs desperate Varsity Football win

NWU Pukke have had an up and down run of late and have suffered back-to-back losses in the Varsity Cup. The latest was a 3-0 drubbing at the hand of the current champions, UP-Tuks, in Pretoria on Monday. Pukke will now need to win their final home game against TUT on Thursday 3 September to ensure a place in the final four. It was only three weeks ago that Pukke was on top of the log – now they are holding on by the skin of their teeth.
