The High School for Girls Potchefstroom showed their skills in their own pool as they won the girls section at the Potch Prestige Gala held at The High School for Girls Potchefstroom on 21 October 2015.

Six other schools, Potchefstroom Gimnasium Ferdinand Postma, Hoër Volkskool Potchefstroom, Potchefstroom Boys High, St Conrads College and Hoërskool Rustenburg participated in the gala. The level of competition was high as swimmers battled it out ferociously on a hot summer’s day.

Alexia Duarte was one of the best swimmer’s for girls high and led the team to a great victory in their section. Ferdies’ Anja Boucher and Adriaen de Freitas also impressed in the pool. The Boys and Combined section were both won by Potchefstroom Gimnasium respectively.

Their wins were largely thanks to senior swimming sensations, Eliz-Maric Cronjé and Van Zyl Brand who were crowned senior victrix and victor ludorum. These two made swimming look easy as they won a number of events by a large margin.
