North West’s up-and-coming young cricketers will get the opportunity of a life- time this weekend. Not only will they get the chance to play at Senwes Park, an international cricket venue, they will also get to compete in their own IPL-type tournament when the first-ever North West Schools League (NSL) u.13 tournament takes place from 20-22 May.

North West Cricket held an auction in April, where the owners of the four  teams, Senwes Spinners, Red Mining Africa, ENSCO Strikers and FFG Falcons, chose their squads.

Twenty-one of Potchefstroom’s best u.13 cricketers were chosen as the young players who will represent each of the four teams in the tournament, which is one of a kind in South Africa. They will play in coloured clothing and get the opportunity to play under floodlights for an  authentic, shorter format experience.

The final will be played from 12:00 on Sunday 22 May.
