It is almost time for the very first Pedal for Poverty event where mountain bikes, a dash of colour and big prizes will form part of the adventurous menu on Saturday 3 September 2016. The event, which is the brainchild of Hashtag Events Company, will aim to raise funds for tourism students who are unable to meet fees and in help to support these underprivileged students. A R 150 registration fee will give you the opportunity to be part of this feel-good event.
Here are five reasons why not to miss out on one of the events of the year.
5. Colour your life!
Colour packets has been one the most popular items this year at big events and colour splashing and dashing will once again make this event a rainbow like experience. Memories will be made and fun will definitely be had.

Who would not like a weekend getaway? The team offers a three night stay at Le Paradis in Ballito to the value of R3900, amongst numerous other prizes!

3. Pedal for Poverty is for everyone
The course at Friesland Melkery, situated just outside Potchefstroom on the Rooipoortjie turnoff, will provide challenges for the pro’s as well as a fun ride for the beginners. Bring a friend, or a family member and take part in giving back to the community. Teams can enter in groups of two or four riders and can compete in three categories, namely The Cyclomaniacs, Tour de Family or Probeerders. Teamwork here will be exciting, fun and richly rewarding. There is something for everyone at this event where endurance, teamwork and a positive attitude will bring the best out of everyone. Let the pedaling begin! By the students for the students!
2. Entertainment on and off the route
Life is all about choices and options and it will be no different at Pedal for Poverty where riders can choose between two routes during the cycle challenge. There will also be entertainment, competitions and a number of activities off the track to keep those taking a breather interested.
