The 2016 North West Region Arab and General Breed Training Show saw some of the province’s best riders and horses competing for top honours at the SAPS Mounted Academy on Saturday, 29 October.

There were numerous classes, which made for exciting competition as riders and their beautiful horses had a chance to showcase their skill in multiple disciplines such as dressage, jumping and showing.

Arabian and general breeds competed on the day. Arabians currently  dominate the discipline of endurance riding but have also enjoyed great success in other equestrian fields. They are currently one of the top ten most popular horse breeds in the world. The judges for the event were Anne Stratling, Fanie Maritz and Alayne McLean, who are all experienced and highly acclaimed experts with a wealth of  knowledge.
