NWU Pukke’s Caster Semenya once again showcased her athletic prowess with a dominant victory in the 300 metre Senior Women’s race at the 4th annual Sasol-NWU Senior International Athletics Championships in Sasolburg on Tuesday, 28 March.

Semenya won in a time of 37:22 ahead of Botswana’s Amantle Montsho in 37:44 and Wenda Nel of Tuks in 37:59.

Other Pukke athletes also upped their game with impressive victories. Jerry Motsau won the Men’s 3000 metre race in 08:08.87. Letitia Janse van Vuuren also claimed gold in the women’s hammer throw with a  new SA record distance of 63.82 metres. Tshepang Makhete did the business in the men’s hammer throw with a 71.28 metre throw to take gold.
