It is that time of the year again when South Africa’s top universities battle it out for bragging rights and sporting glory.

Potchefstroom will be abuzz with excitement from 2-8 July when the annual USSA (University Sports South Africa) netball and tennis championships take place at the NWU tennis and netball courts.

Altogether 34 netball teams and 17 tennis teams will take part in these championships.

The Pukke netball ladies will have something to prove on home soil this year and will be determined to take the title, especially as the reigning Varsity Netball champions.

The University of Pretoria (Tuks) will be the biggest hurdle for Pukke to overcome as Tuks are the defending USSA champions. They have also won the A-section for the past three years, which underlines their dominance.
