First place for Ikageng’s karate kid in Soweto

Two karate achievers from the Ikageng-based IKO Matsushima Karate Klub recently won big at the Soweto Junior Provincial tournament that was held at the Soweto Community Hall on Saturday, 29 July.
Under the leadership of Sensei Mamokete Moleme (3rd Black Belt), Nombulelo Mcangiso took home first prize in the 9Z12 years under 35 kg category, whilst Tshepang Olifant won the medal for the new upcoming developer.
Sensei Moleme would also like to thank Mr Nick Jonas for donating WFD karate suits to the students of the karate dojo.
‘My greatest wish is for more students to join and experience sports as a form of education. We want to eradicate the use of drugs and alcohol among our youth,’ she added.
