Soccer fans can save the dates from 30 March to 2 April for the ever-popular and exciting 2018 Khune Legacy Easter Tournament, which promises some scintillating football action in Ventersdorp.
According to the tournament organiser, Oupa Mothibedi, this tournament is a great opportunity to grow the game of football in the local community.
‘This year, we have a boys u.17 and a girls’ open division, where the winners will receive numerous prizes. The exciting thing is that we want to build on the development of the game in North West and, through Itumeleng and Lucky Khune’s initiative, it is possible,’ he said.
He says both the Khune brothers will be at the tournament, which will add extra flair to the occasion in their hometown.
‘Without the J.B. Marks Municipality’s assistance and the help of Itumeleng Mokone, we would not have been able to host such a fantastic event,’ he added.
The tournament will take place at the Ventersdorp Ext. 2 fields. Entry fees are R1 500 per team and teams can join by calling Mothibedi on 078 452 9757 to reserve their spot.
